"We usually think of the Iraq Conflict (WAR) in terms of its' human casualties pain and atrocities, and rightly so...,these were after all very bad times but the reasons/justifications for the conflict were dubious at best and, with hindsight, full of lies justifying fictions / actions.

Who can forget the recorded images/pictures coming from the burning of the Kuwait Oil fields?
Dark plumes of thick rank smoke blotting out the horizons.

At the same time as Man was creating a War based on self serving Economics, the animal inhabitants of the region were also being held accountable!

Who was there to speak up for them as they were being annihilated?

Here is a song, albeit too late, to give them a voice" (Guy)

Impacts on animals in Iraq conflict

Lyrics

Subtropical desert heat soaks up Arabian Sun
Horizon lost in the black of burning
The coastline lies dying, the ecosystem near gone
Lost in a final act of War

So go ask the Sand Gazelle about all the Oil
throughout the Rub'al-Khali
Red dunes to quicksand, they have trod this now dry ocean
Until the hand of Man upon them finally fell
